Kosovo operates on Central European Time (CET) during winter months, which is 1 hour ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+1). During daylight saving time, observed from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October, Kosovo switches to Central European Summer Time (CEST), which is UTC+2.
All of Kosovo follows the same timezone. Major cities including Pristina, Prizren, Peja, and Mitrovica all observe the same time. Kosovo shares its timezone with all its neighboring countries.
Kosovo declared independence in 2008, making it one of the youngest countries in Europe. The capital Pristina is home to the Newborn monument, a large sculpture that is repainted annually on Independence Day. Kosovo has a very young population, with an average age of around 30 years old.
