Jordan operates on permanent Eastern European Summer Time, which is 3 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+3). Since 2022, Jordan has maintained UTC+3 year-round and no longer observes seasonal daylight saving time changes.
Major cities including Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, and Aqaba all follow the same time. Jordan shares its timezone with Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, and other Gulf countries.
Jordan is home to Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, carved into rose-red cliffs over 2,000 years ago. The Dead Sea, bordering Jordan and Israel, is the lowest point on Earth at 430 meters below sea level. Wadi Rum, the "Valley of the Moon," was the filming location for the movie "The Martian."
