The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) spans two time zones. The western states of Yap and Chuuk use UTC+10, while the eastern states of Pohnpei and Kosrae use UTC+11. The capital Palikir is located in Pohnpei state. Micronesia does not observe daylight saving time.
The country consists of four states spread across the western Pacific Ocean: Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae. Each state has its own distinct culture, language, and traditions, united under a federal government.
Chuuk Lagoon (formerly Truk Lagoon) is one of the world's premier wreck diving destinations, containing over 60 Japanese warships and 275 aircraft sunk during World War II. The island of Yap is famous for its traditional stone money called "Rai," massive limestone discs that can be up to 4 meters in diameter.
