What Time is it in Liberia?

Liberia operates on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+0). The country does not observe daylight saving time, so the offset remains constant throughout the year.

All of Liberia follows the same timezone. Major cities including Monrovia, Gbarnga, and Buchanan all observe GMT. Monrovia, the capital and largest city, is named after U.S. President James Monroe and is the country's main port and commercial center.

Fun Fact

Liberia is one of only two countries in Africa that was never colonized by European powers (the other being Ethiopia). Founded in 1847 by freed American slaves, Liberia is Africa's oldest republic. It's also one of only three countries in the world that doesn't use the metric system.
