Major cities including Bishkek (the capital), Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Karakol all follow KGT. Kyrgyzstan shares its timezone with Bangladesh, Bhutan, and parts of Russia (Omsk Time).
Kyrgyzstan is known as the "Switzerland of Central Asia" due to its stunning mountain scenery. Over 80% of the country is mountainous, including the Tian Shan range. Issyk-Kul, the world's second-largest alpine lake, never freezes despite the cold winters. The national sport is Kok-Boru, a traditional horse game similar to polo but played with a goat carcass.
