What Time is it in Malta?

Malta operates on Central European Time (CET) during winter months, which is 1 hour ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+1). During daylight saving time, observed from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October, Malta switches to Central European Summer Time (CEST), which is UTC+2.

All of Malta follows the same timezone, including the main island and the smaller islands of Gozo and Comino. The capital Valletta and all towns observe the same time. Malta shares its timezone with most of Western and Central Europe.

Fun Fact

Malta is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. The island nation has been inhabited for over 7,000 years and contains some of the world's oldest free-standing structures—the Megalithic Temples, which predate both Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids. Malta was a British colony until 1964, which is why English remains an official language.
