What Time is it in Morocco?

Morocco observes UTC+1 for most of the year. However, during Ramadan, the country temporarily switches to UTC+0 to ease fasting by giving an extra hour before sunrise. This unique practice means Morocco's timezone changes annually based on the Islamic lunar calendar.

All of Morocco follows the same timezone. Major cities including Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Fes, and Tangier all observe the same time. The time shown above automatically reflects whether Morocco is currently in standard time or Ramadan time.

Fun Fact

Morocco is the only country in the world that switches timezones for religious observance. The Ramadan time change was introduced in 2012 to give fasting Muslims an extra hour of sleep before the pre-dawn meal. Morocco permanently adopted UTC+1 in 2018, but kept the Ramadan exception, making it one of the most unique timezone situations globally.
